PERISCOPE - DIY kit for Students

Periscopes were probably in vented in 17th century. They were used on submarines . Periscope gives the view of surrounding horizons while the vessel remains submerged .

In real periscope, lense and prisms are used.They are very complicated . A typical periscope is about 40 ft in length. It has a tilting head prism so it can scan the horizon and the sky as well.

Today, very sophisticated periscope sextants are used in air navigation in night flying for observing altitudes of celestial bodies
